Bakersfield High in California teammates Alex Valencia and Liam McKnight finished first and third in a Blue Division boys varsity race at the 42nd Woodbridge Cross Country Classic at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, Calif. Valencia covered the 3-mile layout in 14:46.2 and McKnight ran 14:52.2 for the Drillers, who finished fourth with 215 points.
